Before I became a therapist, I worked in a recording studio and played jazz guitar semi-professionally. I have found music to be an enriching and healing power in my life, and have found it to be effective in helping others explore new levels of connection and self-expression.
A native of Washington D.C., I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Naropa University. I am a Board Certified Music Therapist. I also received my certification as a Gestalt therapist from the Gestalt Institue of the Rockies and am currently pursuing advanced studies in the use of music and sound in family therapy. I have worked as an inpatient therapist at Exempla West Pines in Wheat Ridge, a music therapist at The Argyle nursing home in Denver, and as a home-visit family therapist working with high-risk children at Community Reach Center in Adams County. I am also trained in EMDR, (an effective technique for resolving trauma, see EMDR.com) and Experiential Play Therapy.
